TREASURE COAST DECORATIVE PAINTERS
|
 |
Have you always dreamed of painting, but thought you could never learn? You can and it is as easy as learning to ride a bike.
We are a local chapter of the National Society of Decorative Painters. Each year our objective is to bring educational programs to our members.
Using mediums like acrylics, oils, colored pencils and watercolors, we paint on a wide variety of surfaces.

We meet at 9am, the third Saturday of each month at the First Presbyterian Church at 2240 SE Walton Road, PSL, 34952. Several national teachers are brought in for seminars each year at a reasonable cost.
Directions to the Church: Take US 1 to Walton Road, turn East onto Walton. Continue past Lennard Rd (there is a traffic light there) The Church is on the next block on the right.
Community service projects are also part of our organization. Please attend a chapter meeting at no cost to see what we are all about. If you decide to join us, you must first be a National Society member, which costs $40 annually, and includes a fantastic quarterly magazine filled with numerous projects and information. Local chapter dues are $12 annually.

Please contact one of the officers listed on the following page if you are interested in joining us. Our members come from far and wide, but we all share the love of painting. Making new friends is a wonderful bonus!

Here is a message from one of our members:
"I started painting about four years ago and it changed the way I see the world. When I look at a stand of trees I don't just see green anymore; I see all the shades, hues, and tones of the greens. Clouds have become fascinating, not just for the cute animals I used to see in them, but now I relate to their shapes, shades and colors. I must confess however, I still look for the cute animals. Then there is the surfaces to paint on - anything can become a surface and painters are sometimes accused of painting anything that will stand still long enough! I love painting, my new perspective on the world, and the friendships I have developed through the Treasure Coast Decorative Painters. I would encourage anyone with a desire to paint to come and give it a try."
