DECORATIVE PAINTERS

We are a local chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters. We have local teachers conduct workshops and national teachers conduct seminars. Both workshops and seminars are taught in a variety of mediums, i.e., acrylics, oils, colored pencils and watercolors. A variety of surfaces are used as well.

Our Chapter sponsors several local charities to give back to the community in which we live.

--New Horizons: cash contribution from monies raised at Christmas party
--Safe Space: members donate unused toiletries
--Children’s Home Society: members purchase and paint suitcases
--Memory Box Program: This is a National program created SDP. Members paint unfinished boxes at home. They are distributed to several local hospitals who in turn will give them to mothers who lost their newborn babies. The box is used to hold the few mementos the baby had in the hospital.
